ML King Jr. Drive
Overview
Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive is a heavily used east-west corridor that links west Atlanta to
downtown. Running parallel to I-20 and about 6.5 miles long, the MLK corridor connects points of
interest such as the Atlanta University Center, the Georgia Dome and Georgia World Congress Center
along five MARTA rail stations. Stable suburban and historic urban neighborhoods line the corridor,
as do notable parks and community facilities like Mozley Park, Adams Park, Booker T. Washington High
School and the Adamsville recreation center. The corridor intersects the path of Atlanta’s BeltLine
near Washington Park and also crosses I-285, Atlanta’s perimeter highway, continuing to the city
limits. MLK performs as a key corridor within the city of Atlanta and will maintain its major
corridor status in the growth and development of Atlanta’s Westside.
